Who Am I?

Hello, I'm Dr. Levent Yuksel, an endodontist practicing in Turkey. I completed my dental degree (DDS) and postgraduate specialization in endodontics, with focused training in NiTi rotary instrumentation, retreatment techniques, and microsurgical endodontics. My clinical work centers on primary and secondary root canal treatment using the systems documented in this application.

I develop EndoGuide independently and prepare all the content myself. The goal is to create a clear clinical reference that can be quickly opened and used during root canal treatment, whether at the chairside or for case preparation.

Why I Built EndoGuide

Modern endodontics offers over two dozen NiTi rotary and reciprocating file systems, each with its own sequence, speed, torque, and technique recommendations. Manufacturer DFU documents vary in format, detail, and accessibility. Published literature is spread across hundreds of journals. For a clinician needing quick, reliable protocol data during a procedure, this fragmentation is a real problem.

EndoGuide consolidates this information into a single, consistently structured reference covering 24 adult file systems and 9 pedodontic systems, each with technical specifications, step-by-step protocols, clinical tips, and safety warnings. Every protocol page is designed to be scannable in under 30 seconds at the chairside.

How I Collect Data

Every system protocol in EndoGuide follows a structured editorial process:

  1. Manufacturer DFU/IFU documents are the primary source. I read the official Directions For Use for each system and extract specifications (tip size, taper, speed, torque, recommended sequence). 23 of 24 systems link directly to their DFU source on the Resources page.
  2. AAE and ESE guidelines provide the clinical framework. Terminology, treatment principles, and safety recommendations are cross-referenced with the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) and European Society of Endodontology (ESE) standards.
  3. Peer-reviewed literature from PubMed, university publications, and endodontic society journals supplements manufacturer data with independent findings on cyclic fatigue, canal transportation, alloy behavior, and clinical outcomes.
  4. Clinical experience informs the practical tips and warnings. Where published data is limited, I note this explicitly so clinicians can apply their own judgment.

How I Present Data

I simplify the collected data into a consistent format across every system:

  • Technical specification tables with file name, tip diameter, taper, cross-section, speed (RPM), and torque (Ncm)
  • Step-by-step protocols organized by phase (glide path, shaping, finishing) with specific irrigation and patency instructions
  • Clinical tips distilled from manufacturer guidance and literature, written as actionable single-sentence recommendations
  • Warning notes highlighting contraindications, common errors, and safety considerations
  • Comparisons via the side-by-side comparison tool and the Find Your File recommendation engine

The goal is to present content in a quickly readable and directly applicable format. Every design decision prioritizes chairside usability over comprehensive academic coverage.

Update and Review Policy

EndoGuide content is reviewed and updated on a rolling basis:

  • Each system page displays a revision date indicating when its protocol was last verified against the current DFU
  • New file systems are added as they become clinically available and their DFU documents are published
  • Literature references are updated when significant new research is published (e.g., AAE/ESE guideline revisions, landmark clinical trials)
  • If you notice an error or outdated recommendation, please reach out so I can verify and correct it

Independence and Transparency

EndoGuide is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any file system manufacturer. All product names, trademarks, and DFU references belong to their respective owners and are used here solely for educational identification.

The content is intended for educational purposes only and does not replace professional clinical judgment, manufacturer instructions, or institutional protocols. Always refer to the official DFU for the definitive protocol of any system you use.
