## Specifications

| File | Tip (mm) | Taper | Length | Cross-section | Motion | Speed (rpm) | Torque | Role |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| EdgeGlidePath | 0.19 | variable | 21mm, 25mm, 31mm | Triangular | Continuous Rotation | 300-500 RPM | 2-5.2 Ncm | glide path |

## Protocol

### Glide Path

1. **Establish Access and Initial Patency** — Form straight-line access to the canal orifice. Use a #10 K-file to establish the working length with an apex locator and/or radiograph. Confirm patency with the #10 K-file.
   - Irrigate frequently with EDTA liquid (e.g., EdgeLube 17%)
   - Pre-curve hand files for curved canals
   - Verify reproducible glide path with #10 before starting rotary
2. **Create Glide Path with EdgeGlidePath** — Use EdgeGlidePath in one or more passes until the working length is reached. Use light apical pressure in a clockwise rotary motion. The file replaces #15, 20, 25, 30, 35 hand files and #1, 2, 3 Gates Glidden. _(File: EdgeGlidePath (19/variable) · 300-500 RPM · 2-5.2 Ncm · Continuous rotation)_
   - Replaces up to 8 instruments for faster, simpler glide path creation
   - 1mm maximum flute diameter for conservative coronal preparation
   - Irrigate with EDTA liquid between passes
   - ⚠ Clockwise rotary motion only — do not use in reciprocating mode
   - ⚠ Use light apical pressure — do not force the file

### Shaping

1. **Proceed with Shaping Files** — After glide path is established, shape the canal with EdgeEndo rotary or reciprocating files (e.g., EdgeTaper Platinum, EdgeOne Fire, or EdgeFile X7).
   - EdgeGlidePath is designed to pair with any EdgeEndo shaping system
   - Compatible as glide path for non-EdgeEndo rotary systems as well

### Finishing

1. **Complete Shaping and Obturation** — Complete canal shaping and cleaning with your chosen finishing files. Disinfect and obturate canals per standard protocol.
   - Use matching gutta percha points for the shaping system used
   - Standard irrigation protocol throughout

## Clinical Tips

- Replaces up to 8 instruments (#15-35 hand files + #1-3 Gates Glidden) per product page — may simplify and speed up glide path creation
- FireWire heat treatment provides flexibility and cyclic fatigue resistance (manufacturer claim)
- 1mm maximum flute diameter — conservative coronal preparation
- Compatible as glide path for EdgeTaper Platinum, EdgeOne Fire, EdgeFile X7, and other rotary/reciprocating systems
- Files may appear slightly curved due to heat treatment — this is normal, not a defect (per EU DFU)
- Safe unwinding feature — files designed to unwind as safety warning before separation
- Used similarly to ProGlider (per product page)

## Warnings

- Single patient use only — do not reuse (per DFU)
- Use only in electric motor and handpiece designed for rotary files
- Clockwise rotary motion only — do not use in reciprocating mode (per DFU)
- Contains nickel — do not use on patients with known nickel allergy (per EU DFU)
- Do not use in canals with very severe and sudden curvatures (per EU DFU)
- Clean flutes frequently and check for signs of distortion or wear
- Do not force files — use light apical pressure
- Non-sterile — requires cleaning and sterilization before patient use (per EU DFU)

## Contraindications

- very severe and sudden curvatures (per EU DFU)
- known allergic sensitivity to nickel (per EU DFU)

## Best for

- rotary glide path creation
- replacing multiple hand files in glide path step
- pairing with EdgeEndo shaping systems

## Technical profile

- **Category:** niche
- **Heat treatment:** Fire-Wire — Proprietary FireWire (AHT) heat treatment — enhanced flexibility and cyclic fatigue resistance (manufacturer claim)
- **Manufacturing method:** ground
- **Pre-bendable:** yes
- **Reuse:** Single-use
- **Motor:** any-rotary
- **Glide path requirement:** manual-only — #10 K-file to working length before using EdgeGlidePath
- **Canal suitability:** Curvature: mild, moderate, severe; Canal size: narrow, normal; Calcified canals: no; Retreatment: no; Conservative access: no
