- **Motion:** Continuous Rotation
- **Alloy:** T.Wire (heat-treated NiTi)
- **Key feature:** Dedicated coronal flaring instrument with 9% taper and 17 mm length, designed to reduce interferences at the canal entrance before shaping

## Specifications

| File | Tip (mm) | Taper | Length | Cross-section | Motion | Speed (rpm) | Torque | Role |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| One Flare 25/.09 | 0.25 | 9% | 17mm | Not stated in IFU/brochure | Continuous Rotation | 250-400 | 3.0 Ncm | orifice opener |

## Protocol

### Glide Path

1. **Access Cavity and Initial Exploration** — Take a preoperative radiograph to assess canal anatomy and establish estimated working length. Create straight-line access to expose canal orifices. Scout each canal with a #10 stainless steel K-file to confirm canal patency.
   - One Flare is used before shaping instruments to remove coronal interferences
   - Confirm canal patency with a hand file before introducing One Flare
   - ⚠ Do not use One Flare as a shaping instrument; its role is limited to coronal pre-flaring

### Shaping

1. **Coronal Pre-Flaring with One Flare** — Irrigate the canal with sodium hypochlorite. Introduce One Flare with a slow and regular wave movement without pressure or with very low apical pressure. Guide the instrument to its level of penetration. Once it has reached its penetration level, use a brushing movement against the canal walls. Irrigate again and restore patency with the same glide path instrument used for initial exploration. _(File: One Flare 25/.09 · 250-400 RPM · 3.0 Ncm (max) · Slow wave movement without pressure)_
   - One Flare penetration is generally limited to the coronal third of the canal
   - After pre-flaring, the glide path file can often reach working length more easily
   - This step may help reduce the risk of fracture for subsequent shaping instruments
   - ⚠ Do not force the instrument apically; use light wave movements only
   - ⚠ If resistance is encountered, withdraw, irrigate, and recheck patency before continuing

### Finishing

1. **Proceed with Shaping** — After coronal pre-flaring with One Flare, proceed with your chosen shaping system (e.g. One Curve, 2Shape, One RECI). The manufacturer recommends combining One Flare with One Curve Mini or 2Shape Mini shaping instruments for a complete treatment sequence.
   - One Flare is designed to complement shaping systems, not replace them
   - Following pre-flaring, consider using glide path instruments (e.g. One G) if the canal requires mechanical glide path establishment

## Clinical Tips

- One Flare uses 250-400 RPM with a maximum torque of 3.0 Ncm (per IFU). Any continuous-rotation endodontic motor may be used.
- The 9% taper and 17 mm length are designed specifically for coronal pre-flaring, not full canal shaping.
- T.Wire heat treatment may provide improved fatigue resistance and increased flexibility compared to conventional NiTi (per brochure).
- Pre-flaring with One Flare may help refocus the glide path and reduce the risk of fracture for subsequent penetration instruments.
- The instrument is sterile and reusable; the IFU recommends a maximum of 5 canals per instrument if not visibly damaged.
- Sold in 5-piece packs. Inspect each instrument before use between each canal.

## Warnings

- Reusable instrument with condition-based discard; inspect before each use and between each canal
- Maximum 5 canals recommended per instrument if not visibly damaged (per IFU)
- Do not use on children under 2 years of age (ethylene oxide used in sterilization)
- Contains nickel-titanium; do not use on patients with known nickel or titanium allergy
- Do not use if packaging is damaged or past expiry date
- Do not use in retreatment (per IFU context within One RECI procedure pack)

## Best for
