## Protocol

### Glide Path

1. **Manual Glide Path** — Establish a manual glide path with an ISO 010 K-file to working length, watch-winding gently and irrigating with sodium hypochlorite (per IFU step-by-step).
   - Confirm patency to working length before introducing the reciprocating file (per IFU)

### Shaping

1. **Reciprocating Crown-Down Shaping** — Select the file based on canal size. Flood the canal with NaOCl, run the file in a reciprocating motor, and advance with slight 2–3 mm thrusts. Reach more than 2/3 of working length one or more times. Usually one step completes after three in–out passes (per IFU step-by-step). _(File: R25 / R40 / R50 · Reciprocating 250-360 rpm · 2.0-3.0 N·cm · Reciprocating)_
   - After each step, remove the file, thoroughly rinse the canal, and use an ISO 010 C-type file to confirm patency (per IFU step-by-step)
   - Step ③ may be repeated without preparatory bends using the 025/.08 file (per IFU)
   - If the canal needs further enlargement, switch to 040/.06 or 050/.05 (per IFU)
   - ⚠ Do not force the file — clean, irrigate, and recapitulate with a hand file if progress stops (per IFU precautions)

### Finishing

1. **Confirm Working Length and Foramen** — Confirm working length and canal condition with an ISO 010 file at each gauge step before obturation (per IFU step-by-step).

## Clinical Tips

- Shared IFU (File No. RC-SM-001, version B0 2024-10-07) covers all three metallurgy tiers: RC, RC Gold, RC Blue (per IFU title)
- IFU step 3 explicitly describes a reciprocating rotating motor; R25 is the typical starting file with optional upsize to R40 or R50 for wider canals (per IFU step-by-step and spec table)
- IFU step 8 explicitly covers retreatment: "During the retreatment process, complete the cutting action using the same action as step ③" (per IFU step-by-step)
- Per IFU precautions, avoid continuous-rotation reaming on extremely curved canals; small-angle motions (filing, watch-winding, balanced force) are recommended for high-curvature cases (per IFU precautions)

## Warnings

- Single-use; discard after each canal (per IFU section 3)
- Do not autoclave above 200 °C including drying phase (per IFU sterilization section)
- Do not fully immerse in NaOCl; only the working part may contact a max 5% NaCl solution for up to 5 minutes (per IFU section 4)
- Inspect each file for distortion, unwinding, corrosion, or damaged edges before use (per IFU section 4)
- Use minimal apical pressure; never force the file (per IFU section 4)
- Contraindicated in patients with nickel allergy (per IFU section 1)

## Contraindications

- patients with known nickel allergy (per IFU)

## FAQ

**What alloy is RC made from?**

RC™ is manufactured from NiTi (conventional).

**How many files are in the RC sequence?**

The RC™ system includes 3 files: R25, R40, R50.

**What is the RC file sequence?**

RC™ offers these files: R25, R40, R50. One shaping file is selected per canal; the protocol section above shows the starting file.

**What motion type does RC use?**

RC™ uses reciprocating motion.

**What cases is RC best for?**

RC™ is best suited for: value-tier reciprocating sequence, general shaping in mild–moderate curvature, practices wanting an entry-level RC system.

**What speed and torque settings are recommended for RC?**

RC™ uses reciprocating motion with manufacturer-specific motor settings (refer to official DFU for exact parameters).
