Alloy
NiTi Generations
Definition
A loose shorthand for how rotary NiTi files have developed: conventional superelastic alloy, then thermomechanically processed wires such as M-Wire and R-Phase, then controlled-memory and gold/blue heat treatments, alongside design changes such as off-centred cross-sections and reciprocating motion. The numbering is not standardised and sources group the stages differently, so it is more useful for placing an alloy than as a specification.
