Clinical Tip
Both carry a blue oxide layer, but they are not the same class of instrument. Reciproc blue is a three-file reciprocating system (R25/R40/R50) at 150°/30°, pre-bendable, and its data lists severe curvature, calcified canals and retreatment among its uses. Vortex Blue is a sixteen-file continuous-rotation crown-down matrix (15–50 in .04/.06) at 500 RPM with torque set per file. Choose Reciproc blue for single-file reciprocation in demanding anatomy, Vortex Blue for graduated crown-down control across a wider size range.
