Protocol
1
1. Access Opening
Gain access to the pulp chamber.
2
2. Glide Path
Negotiate canals with #10-15 K-file to working length.
3
3. Foster File
Use Foster file (#17, variable taper, triangular cross-section) as orifice opener and to create glide path in the apical part while widening the coronal orifice. 250-350 RPM, 2.2-2.6 Ncm.
4
4. Canal-dependent File Selection
Narrow/medium canals: B1 (#28/.05, S cross-section). Wide canals (distal/palatal): B2 (#38/.05, S cross-section). 250-350 RPM, 2.2-2.6 Ncm.
5
5. Irrigation
Irrigate with NaOCl after each file. Final rinse with NaOCl + 17% EDTA.
6
6. Obturation
Dry canal and obturate with resorbable material (Metapex, ZOE-based, or MTA).
Clinical Tips
- •250-350 RPM, 2.2-2.6 Ncm torque (per JCHR 2025 review)
- •3-file system: Foster (orifice/glide path) + B1 (narrow) + B2 (wide)
- •Foster has triangular cross-section; B1 has S cross-section (per manufacturer)
- •Canal-type-dependent file selection, not sequential
- •Heat-treated NiTi — specific treatment type not disclosed by manufacturer
Warnings
- ⚠Do not advance beyond the apex — primary tooth root resorption
- ⚠Monitor torque limits (2.2-2.6 Ncm per review literature)
- ⚠Primary tooth dentin walls are thin — do not apply excessive pressure
