Pedodontic File Systems
Alloy
CM-Wire
Heat Treatment
CM-Wire (Controlled Memory)
Length
16mm, 17mm
Taper
Variable (4-8%)
File List
A1
#38 / VV 6-8%
Anterior teeth (17mm total, 13mm cutting)
P1
#28 / VV 4-8%
Posterior teeth (16mm total, 12mm cutting)
Protocol
1
1. Canal Assessment
Single-file system for primary teeth. A1 for anterior, P1 for posterior. Evaluate canal size with radiograph.
2
2. Glide Path
Create glide path with #10-15 K-file.
3
3. Single-File Shaping
Shape with a single file: A1 for anterior, P1 for posterior. 250-300 RPM, 2.2 Ncm, brushing motion.
4
4. Irrigation
Clean with NaOCl, final rinse with EDTA.
Clinical Tips
- •Single-file system - fast procedure
- •A1 for anterior, P1 for posterior teeth
- •Dual cross-section: triangular apical 5mm, teardrop coronal 7mm
- •Up to 12 teeth per file
Warnings
- ⚠Do not advance beyond the apex
Clinical Notes
- →Single-file system for both anterior and posterior primary teeth
- →16-17mm total length (12-13mm cutting length)
- →Dual cross-section: triangular (apical 5mm) + tear-drop (coronal 7mm)
- →CM-Wire flexibility
- →Fracture rate: 2% (Lakshmanan 2022, n=100 teeth)
